Zirconex Mining & Metal Laboratory was honoured to welcome the leadership of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON) during a memorable visit to our facility on 13 August 2026.
The visit provided an important opportunity for professional engagement, knowledge exchange and discussions around the role of competent laboratories in supporting the growth and development of Nigeria’s chemistry, mining, environmental and industrial sectors.
ICCON Leadership Visits Zirconex
The delegation from the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON), the statutory body responsible for the regulation and professional development of the chemistry profession in Nigeria, was led by the newly appointed Acting Registrar/CEO, Chemist Reuben Idongesit Akwaowo, alongside members of his team.
During the visit, the ICCON delegation toured Zirconex Mining & Metal Laboratory and gained insight into our laboratory operations, analytical capabilities, quality-management systems and professional approach to laboratory testing and consultancy services.
The engagement also provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of maintaining high professional and technical standards in laboratory practice, particularly as demand continues to grow for reliable analytical data across Nigeria’s mining, environmental and industrial sectors.
